Hello, I’m Jerrod Long, a Lexington and Central Kentucky Area Web Developer focusing in responsive designs that are consistent across multiple platforms. User experience and usability testing are also important aspects of what I do.

  • 2002

    My web development journey begins: Started learning HTML & CSS at the Montgomery County Area Technology Center (MCATC) as a sophomore in high school.

  • Summer 2004

    Earned my web development certificate from MCATC. Graduated from Montgomery County High School.

  • Fall 2004

    Begin my college career at Transylvania University. Began developing an understanding of how computers worked and proper programming practices.

  • 2008

    Graduated from Transylvania University with a Bachelors of Computer Science with and emphasis on Graphics. My senior project was an online based baseball simulation website.

  • 2009

    Began working on web projects as a side job. Began learning jQuery.

  • 2010

    Felt comfortable enough in my knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, jQuery, WordPress that I opened Jerrod Long Design and began my career as a full-time developer.

  • Spring 2011

    Worked as part of a development team on the Powell County Tourism Site. Began working with Morris Drake, a Search Engine Optimization expert who has been in the industry for over twenty years and worked with a variety of clients ranging from horse farms to attorneys.

  • Fall 2011

    Began usability work on Uniform Accessories Unlimited which is an e-commerce site with over 15,000 products
